Summits (M) Mount Keen

A cold -6 degC start, lots of sheet ice on the path for the first mile or so, but pleasant walk to the Queens well built to commemorate a visit by Queen Victoria.

A little further on the ascent starts up on to the upper moorland via a couple of switch backs.

After a right turn to at a cairn marking the path that leads to the glen tanner estate, an easyish push up to the summit, would have been easier if this hadn't been the first outing in three months.

When at the trig point I took out my camera for a few snaps, a few minutes later someone starting asking if anybody had lost some car keys, turns out it was mine which had fallen out!!!! They are kept in a zipped pocket which I had also used to charge my phone today as it hadn't charged over night. Won't make that mistake again hopefully.

After a really pleasant lunch looking at the incredible views, we retraced our steps back to the car, where it started to rain. We timed this walk perfectly and inside the guide times.
