Another solo walk to mop up some tops, this time the ones east of Glenshee.
Headed up the steep rocky paths alongside the ski tows from the car park to Meall Odhar, wind was starting to pick up at this altitude. A small drop down before the climb up towards Glas Maol.
When planning the route, I was going to miss out the Munro and head over to the track on the eastern side, but once on to the plateau of Glas Maol it seemed much more straightforward to head up over the top towards Little Glas Maol. What a difference without snow!
At some point after the summit I lost my sunglasses, never a good idea to hook them over the chest strap, not that I needed them much today, but still annoying.
The walk over to Little Glas Maol was pretty easy and was rewarded with great views towards my other main target today, Druim Mor.
Headed back towards Glas Moal this time taking the track I was going to use originally and headed over towards Cairn of Claise, but just 80 metres or so below the summit, I took the turn south towards Druim Mor. The atv path was at times hard to pick out and occasionally quite muddy.
At Druim Mor, I had an early lunch taking in the cracking views towards the south.
From here I returned using the same path and again headed up Glas Maol, but skirted the top to return down the path to summit Meall Odhar again. The path down towards the car park here is not pleasant to descent and not any better than they were when icy earlier in the year.
